Doug “Fresh” Gillespie

Doug “Fresh” Gillespie is Sr. Vice President with JVB Financial located in Cold Spring Harbor.  He is responsible for proprietary; trading of high yield and distressed bonds.

Frank Globuschutz at the Academy of Boxing introduced Fight for Charity to Doug.

“I have always wanted to give something back and always wanted to ‘fight’ in front of people,” said Doug. “This event marries those two desires, while giving me a chance to get in shape and get back to being the old Doug.

“Training and fighting in the Main Event mean everything to me.  As a former athlete I have yearned for competition and this enables me to get my life back by losing weight while fighting for a cause. This is a chance to be a ‘star’ for a day. It gives me chills to be able to do this and put in work that culminates in our grand night.”

Doug was on the Monmouth University football team and played defensive tackle. He continues to support the team today.

Doug earned a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Monmouth University.

He resides in Huntington Village.
