Meet the Boxer

We'd like to introduce our 2019 Boxer, Virginia DeCeglia from Financial Force!

Virginia DeCeglia is a Senior Software Consultant with FinancialForce, a San Francisco based company, but resides and works right here in West Babylon, NY.

She attended the 2018 Main Event as a guest of Alure Home Improvements and as a supporter of the event.

“Volunteering and giving back has always been a part of who I am. To be able to combine my passion for fitness and sport into an event to raise funds for admirable and deserving causes is the perfect recipe, a win-win,” said Virginia.

“Being a Charity Boxer will probably be the most challenging yet rewarding experience I’ve ever participated in as a volunteer. The ability to show others that when you put your mind to it anything is possible will be a great lesson, on top of the funds that we raise for the charities,” she added

Virginia is an active member of LIVA Volleyball and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Donation for Dates, and Christmas on Wheels, as well as being active in Living Faith Church.

Virginia went on to say, “I recently learned through a close friend at my Church, that I have a strong connection with FREE (one of the charities supported by Fight for Charity), so it will mean a lot to fight in this year’s Main Event.  I want to show that I will fight hard to raise money through commitment and passion, and truly support my community.”

Virginia earned her B.S. in Mathematics with a Minor in Computer Science from SUNY Geneseo.

Q: What made you decide to fight for charity?

““I recently learned through a close friend at my Church, that I have a strong connection with FREE (one of the charities supported by Fight for Charity), so it will mean a lot to fight in this year’s Main Event.  I want to show that I will fight hard to raise money through commitment and passion, and truly support my community.””
