2019 Boxers / Mikey Zaharios

Meet the Boxer

We'd like to introduce our 2019 Boxer, Mickey Zaharios from Walt Whiltman High School!

Michael  Zaharios, a resident of South Huntington, is a substitute teacher and coach at South Huntington Union Free School District.

He is an avid fan of his Nichols College Football Team and is a supporter of Young Leaders.

“A friend told me about Fight for Charity.  After learning its mission, I volunteered to be a Charity Boxer in memorial for Vincent Alterbrando, Walt Whitman High School teacher and wresting coach. It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community, plus I will get to better myself both mentally and physically,” Michael said.

Michael graduated from Walt Whitman High School and earned a B.A. in History with a minor in education from Nichols College.

Q: What made you decide to fight for charity?
